FOCUS continues to reach out to the local university community to make sure that students working in coatings technology and color design have an opportunity to interact with industry professionals and decision makers. This year, FOCUS 2012 has collaborated with two local universities, Eastern Michigan University and College for Creative Studies, to create an opportunity for students to share their work with us.

  1. College for Creative Studies

The College for Creative Studies strives to give students all the tools for successful careers in the dynamic, growing creative industries. CCS fosters students' resolve to pursue excellence, act ethically, engage their responsibilities as citizens, and learn throughout their lives. Students work in small classes and receive individual attention from teachers who are accomplished artists, scholars and industry professionals. Undergraduates declare their majors as freshmen and take both major studio and foundation courses in their first year. Facilities are unsurpassed, ranging from a blacksmithing shop to an advanced rapid prototyping lab. Student services provide support outside the classroom, including academic advising, mentoring, counseling, and tutoring. Students' potential for success after college is enhanced by an effective career services office that assists with internships and job placement and has relations with numerous corporations that employ our graduates and sponsor projects in our studios. A strong alumni network helps students with the transition to the working world. CCS's graduate design programs have a special business focus and are offered in collaboration with the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business. The College also is committed to and deeply engaged in community service.
