The Detroit Society for Coatings Technology (DSCT)
is sponsoring the 35th Annual FOCUS
Conference. The theme of the 2010 conference is Innovation: A Path to Value
FOCUS Conference 2010 will be held on
Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the MSU Management Center in Troy, Michigan.
The conference is an educational event for
coatings formulators, manufacturers, end users, raw material and equipment
suppliers, educators and students.
The Keynote address will be given by Imre Molnar,
Dean of the College for Creative Studies. Dean Molnar’s insights into how
innovation in automotive design contribute to appeal and functionality will be
appreciated by all attendees. Dean Molnar will also discuss recent contributions
of the College for Creative Studies to help revitalize the automotive and
Detroit communities in which CCS works.
The technical conference will feature speakers in
two tracks covering topics on paint formulation, applications processes, and
paint performance and appearance. FOCUS
2010 will offer separate morning and afternoon tutorials: one on Basic Polymer
Science by Dr Collin Moore of BASF and one on Color Measurement and Control
presented by Greg Shrider of Byk Chemie.
FOCUS
2010 will also feature an all day Coatings Showcase exhibit by suppliers to the
coatings industry. New to FOCUS this
year will be a Student poster Session showcasing research being conducted by
students in University Coatings and Polymers programs
The registration fee is very modest, and includes
lunch and coffee breaks. More details about FOCUS
